Wendy’s tried to make their salads faster and fresher than they already are, but that turned out to be impossible.
VML Intern Project 2017.
So, for our my intern project at VML, we were asked to get millennial women to try Wendy's salad. Research shows that 91% of people who try their salads are likely to come back for more. That's why we decided to approach our creative in the way that we did; with a salad giveaway.

Our solution was to institute a free salad day, where anyone could come in and try the salad. But it makes you wonder, what led Wendy's to make that decision?

It ended up that Wendy's salad was already as fast and fresh as it could be, so the only way we could get people to try it was by giving it away.
The creative scales effortlessly across mediums. It could be a print spread, outdoor, Instagram Story, or as seen here in a Facebook Carousel.
We actually prototyped a few salad inventions..
Well, some were found objects..
Some had safety concerns..
And this one is purely conceptual..
All of our crazy instruments of saladical precision would be available on the Shop of Salad Speed..
In order to utilize the Wendy's voice on Twitter, we would reach out to the community and ask them to come up with their own salad products..
The most popular submission would actually get produced and sold on our site!
